Insurance Benefits

Ability Beyond Barriers is a member of the South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA). PEBA provides medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance and life insurance for eligible employees, their spouses, and children. Insurance coverage for eligible employees, their spouse and children begin on the 1st of the month following their first day of employment.

South Carolina Retirements Systems

Ability Beyond Barriers participates in the South Carolina Retirement Systems (SCRS). SCRS provides a fixed monthly benefit based on a formula that includes your average final compensation, years of service credit and a benefit multiplier, not on your account balance at retirement. Your contributions to the system are a tax-deferred 9% of gross pay. Your account earns 4% interest compounded annually until you retire, or your account becomes inactive.
